About.
West Chester University's Under A Rest is the first co-ed a Cappella group to form on campus. They were founded in 2014 and went on to compete in their first ICCA competition in 2016.
The group is made up of a variety of different majors including nursing, education, biology, business, and musical theatre. One thing they all share, however, is their love for music and the group. This group is a bundle of fun, and they will not let you forget it.
After a little over one year of existence, the group competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella and placed third at the Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals at Temple University in 2016. The group also won special awards for outstanding choreography and outstanding arrangement. At The 2017 Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals at Drexel University, the group placed 2nd and won awards for outstanding choreography and outstanding arrangement. From there, the group continued on to compete at the 2017 ICCA Semifinals in Wilmington, Delaware. Although they did not place, the experience was one they will never forget.
For the future, Under A Rest plans on showing that the underdogs shouldn't be underestimated. They are working hard to make sure that they keep improving and sharpening their skills, and hope to continue on the path of following their dreams.
